Frequently Asked Questions

What does E.D.G.E mean?
E.D.G.E. is an acronym for Earnings Depend on Gaining an Edge.

What is E.D.G.E.?
It’s a free workshop for schools and participating students where consultants present real world advice to help students sell themselves better as they interview for jobs, scholarships, internships or even for college admission.

What topics are covered?
Most any interview-related topic imaginable is discussed, often in a question and answer setting. Planned topics include networking; interviewing; resume development; job hunt etiquette; the differences between staffing firms, in house recruiters and head hunters.

If there is no cost to the schools or students, how are these workshops made possible?
Initially, this is a community service by The Wooden Foundation (a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) entity). We are actively seeking corporate and individual sponsorships to increase our impact on today's youth.

Are there plans to offer other subjects beyond job hunting and interviewing?
Yes, depending on the needs of various schools, TWF is considering bringing in speakers to address areas of possible interest to young adults. These could include financial planning, health & fitness, legal issues to include lease negotiations, and a variety of life skills such as conflict resolution, time management and negotiating.

I’m a student (or parent of a student) and want to get individual help apart from these workshops. Is that possible?
Yes, but not through The Wooden Foundation. TWF exists to provide no-cost group assistance at the high school, college and community levels. Randy Wooden’s for profit firm Wooden Group could address your concern. Contact Randy for more information.

How can my group, school or business get involved?
